Monday's Headliners

Team USA defeated 4th ranked Lithuania 111-88 in another tune-up for the World Championships. Carmelo returned to form with 19 points. Take that, Ginobili!

Clinton Portis separated his shoulder while making a tackle after a Mark Brunell interception. On the radio this morning Mike Golic (from Mike & Mike) said he had this type of injury when he played and it was a recurring ailment. The shoulder popped out and then back in, which makes me wonder- How does this affect my Fantasy Draft?

The Mets continued to roll, beating Washington 3-1 to take a 15 game lead in the division and a 9.5 game lead in the NL.

The Dodgers are about to replace St. Louis as the #2 NL squad after another stellar outing from Greg Maddux.

The White Sox are thinking about repeating as division champs after closing Detroit's lead to 5.5 games this weekend.

Travis Hafner tied an MLB record with his 6th grand slam of the year. He now shares the record with Don Mattingly, who hit 6 in 1987.

The NFL preseason was in full swing, and I was completely unimpressed by the starters on the Giants. This could be a long season.
