Headliners

Before MNF last night, a video game commercial ran where Shaun Alexander actually says, "People keep mistaking me for that guy in New York". Now if we can only get him to say, "People keep mistaking me for a lab creation that used DNA from Michael Strahan and Tiki Barber".

The Atlanta Braves may be out of the playoff picture, but they aren't out of the headlines. Chipper Jones homered in 3 consecutive plate appearances and Matt Diaz (who?) tied a major league record with hits in 10 consecutive plate appearances.

Did you know Chipper Jones named his son Shea because of his domination of the Mets
in Shea Stadium? This is one of the many reasons that I am happy Shea is being torn down
in a couple of years.

USA BBall rolls S. Korea 116-63 in final tune-up. We open up against Puerto Rico on Saturday morning at 1 a.m. I consider this to really be Friday night and a fine time to watch a game. Here is the
complete schedule.

The Dodgers win their 16th of 17. Wowzer. The Mets dominated the "old" Greg Maddux, but I'm getting a bit nervous, especially after Pedro got hurt again yesterday.

The Jets traded for Lee Suggs to help out Blaylock and Houston. My bet is Suggs takes the majority of the carries. This also helps Reuben Droughns' fantasy value.
